Founded in 2005, Third Coast Percussion has performed hundreds of concerts across the country, presents an annual concert season at home in Chicago, teaches musicians of all ages and experience levels, and has commissioned dozens of new works by composers including Glenn Kotche, Chris Cerrone, Donnacha Dennehy, Timo Andres, David T. Little, Ted Hearne, and Augusta Read Thomas.

@nickzoulek composed Reminder: Grow, Reflect, Repeat for @thirdcoastpercussion as part of their annual Currents Creative Partnership.
The piece is scored for a single 4.3 octave marimba with the option of including video art, also created by Nick. The piece has themes of nostalgia (especially for those of us who grew up using cassette tapes 📼😂), personal growth, reflection, with a healthy dose of Chicago love ❤️

New percussion piece by Jessie Montgomery! 🙌🔥🥁
Study no. 1 is @jessiemontgomerymusic’s first piece for percussion quartet. She workshopped the piece with @thirdcoastpercussion in their Chicago rehearsal studio last year—and together they tried to find every sound possible out of a single drum (a tom tom), a metal bowl, a triangle, and a single crotale.
