Founded in 2005, Third Coast Percussion has performed hundreds of concerts across the country, presents an annual concert season at home in Chicago, teaches musicians of all ages and experience levels, and has commissioned dozens of new works by composers including Glenn Kotche, Chris Cerrone, Donnacha Dennehy, Timo Andres, David T. Little, Ted Hearne, and Augusta Read Thomas.

We spent last week in Hong Kong taking part in the first ever @hkpax.official
It was a blast. We performed at @hkadc_official Showcase, @taipoartscentre.hk and @mplusmuseum in the @wkcda. Our partnership with @toolboxpercussion and @alicebom was a highlight β thanks @emmaaaaaa_ng and @lauren_perc for sharing the stage with us for this special version of Davidβs Torched and Wrecked π₯π And congrats to @austinyip_thecomposer on the premiere!
It was awesome to see old friends, meet new friends, eat just absolutely way way way too much. S/o @weebs1818 for representing and meeting with folks from all over the globe on our behalf.
Itβs a beautiful city full of generous and lovely people. Our Asian home away from home! Already excited to find our way back there, hopefully soon β€οΈππ°π

Today we had the honor of sharing a meal with the Japanese ambassador to Hong Kong, along with other U.S. and Japanese diplomats.
It was very cool to learn more about the role the arts can play in the relationships between different countries. Lots of great discussions about Chicago, Japan, Hong Kong, Lithuania, and more. Check out that @cubs jersey π€©π€£π»
No matter what is happening politically in any country at any given time, there are always going to be people who want to connect, learn more about each other, and celebrate each othersβ music/dance/food/theater/film/art.
Also β one of the best meals weβve ever had. Thereβs a photo with us with the chef β‘οΈ
