DESCRIPTION:Join us for the world premiere of Perpetulum by iconic minimalist composer Philip Glass\, his first-ever work for a percussion ensemble\, commissioned by Third Coast Percussion. Glass himself scarcely requires introduction\, having garnered Kennedy Center Honors\, multiple Academy Award nominations\, and a National Medal of Arts\, in addition to being considered one of the most influential composers of the 20th century. Third Coast will join Glass onstage for both performance and conversation. \nClick here for more information and to purchase tickets. \nPHILIP GLASS Perpetulum *world premiere* \nPerpetulum by Philip Glass was commissioned for Third Coast Percussion with lead support from the Maxine and Stuart Frankel Foundation. The work was co-commissioned by Elizabeth and Justus Schlichting for Segerstrom Center for the Arts\, Bravo! Vail Music Festival\, San Francisco Performances\, Town Hall Seattle\, Performance Santa Fe\, the University of Notre Dame’s DeBartolo Performing Arts Center\, and the Third Coast Percussion New Works Fund\, with additional support from Friedrich Burian\, Bruce Oltman\, MiTO Settembre Musica\, The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra’s Liquid Music Series\, and the Percussive Arts Society. \n
