Rising star of the opera world, David T. Little, writes music that is by turns tender, elegiac, dark, and epic. His piece Haunt of Last Nightfall, composed for Third Coast Percussion, blends pre-recorded sounds of heavy metal with live percussion to describe the emotional landscape behind a tragic moment in El Salvadoran history: the massacre at El Mozote, El Salvador in December 1981.
