Where are you from?

Where are you from?

I am originally from Venezuela, but then moved to Miami, Florida at a young age.

What is one thing about yourself that you want everyone to know?

I am also a composer and conductor!!

What are you up to these days?

I’m studying percussion performance at Oberlin Conservatory! Currently working on playing Grisey’s “Le Noir de l’Étoile” with Oberlin Percussion Group!

When did you intern with TCP?

January of 2024

How did you connect with TCP?

Ross Karre, my private instructor, connected me with TCP and the group warmly welcomed me with open arms!

Did you gain anything from the internship that you’d like to share?

Yes! I gained experience; recording, collaboration, and production strategies; an inside view on how a professional percussion ensemble runs rehearsals, and most importantly a connection to such a great ensemble 🙂

What else did you do while you were interning?

Ate good Chicago food and had fun walking around Chicago with my significant other!

Did you leave a legacy or mark on the organization that you’re particularly proud of?

I don’t think I was there long enough to leave any real mark on the organization

Favorite memory?

Monitoring sound, selling merch, and the group photo after the concert!

A GIF or YouTube link that sums up your experience with TCP?

If you were a cartoon character, who would you be?

Jake from “Adventure Time” or Mabel from “Gravity Falls”

A funny or embarrassing story from the internship?

I didn’t expect it to be so cold(even though Sean warned me about it), so I ended up underdressing and showed up to the studio shivering. Sean let me borrow a hat after I failed to take his advice on wearing one.

Our interns can experience every part of TCP’s organization, from visiting recording sessions to writing grants and everything in between. We accept interns almost year-round.
