What if Debussy had written for percussion quartet? Acclaimed pianist and composer Conrad Tao teams up with GRAMMY® Award-winning quartet Third Coast Percussion for a project that brings adventurous new music into dialogue with Debussy’s Preludes, a beloved classic of the piano repertoire, re-imagined for piano and percussion quartet. Pulitzer Prize-winning composer and MacArthur Fellow Julia Wolfe will create a major new work for the five musicians in response to Debussy’s music. A newly commissioned piece by Tao for TCP rounds out this evening of innovative and virtuosic musicmaking.
